about

(DUST027, edition of 36)

Śmigus Dyngus is this Polish tradition my sweet lady Monika Szydlowski told me about, wherein village boys gang up the day after Easter, and shoot squirt guns and/or dump buckets of water on village girls (in Monika's house, they bump the date up to April Fool's Day and subvert the gender paradigm, which surely must suck for her pops… but that's a different story). These tracks were based on a warble-heavy recording of me making coffee in a thunderstorm (cf. Nature’s Gnar), plus some elements of an unused solo voice quickie ("Vein Drain") that I recorded for, but never sent to, Andrew Coltrane for an all-voice comp. How this all ties in is open to interpretation.
